Mohawk is pleased to announce the recipients of its National Retailer of the Year awards, which recognizes the top-performing retailer for both its ColorCenter and Floorscapes aligned retailer programs. Robb Trott and Mike Leonard of Carpet Dimensions in Willingboro, NJ, claimed the distinguished ColorCenter top honor, while Larry Flick of The Floor Store in Richmond, California, was named Floorscapes Retailer of the Year. The winning retailers were recently honored before industry leaders and their retailer peers at the Mohawk Solutions aligned retailer gala in Orlando, Florida.

“All of the 2012 ColorCenter and Floorscapes Retailer of the Year finalists impressed us and were great candidates, but Robb, Mike and Larry exceeded the criteria and our expectations in every category,” said Jenny Nichols, director of retail marketing at Mohawk. “We are so proud of their outstanding accomplishments, dedication to their businesses and much deserved success. They truly embody passion, conviction and “heart” - which is what this year’s convention was all about”.

Carpet Dimensions
Carpet Dimensions is widely regarded as one of the most reputable and successful local retail stores serving Willingboro, NJ and the surrounding areas. The company opened its doors 23 years ago and current owners, Robb Trott and Mike Leonard, bought the business in 1999. Carpet Dimensions became a Mohawk ColorCenter retailer that same year but when Trott and Leonard decided to move the store in 2006, they realized it was also time to upgrade to ColorCenter Elite status. And they are glad they did. Trott says the success of that decision has exceeded his expectations and put them in the position to win the coveted honor of Retailer of the Year.

“Being named the 2012 ColorCenter National Retailer of the Year is a huge honor for my business partner, Mike, and me,” said Trott. “I credit this achievement to our amazing staff, all of whom come to work excited, energetic and eager to meet the customers’ flooring needs.”

Trott added that his store’s success would not have been possible without the innovative products and marketing support that Mohawk provides its aligned retail partners. He cited SmartStrand with DuPont Sorona as an example.

“Robb and Mike take advantage of every tool Mohawk has to offer,” said Nichols. “Their determination is inspiring and worthy of recognition. We’re honored to name them as this year’s ColorCenter National Retailer of the Year. ”

The Floor Store
Larry Flick, owner of The Floor Store, has been in the retail flooring business for over 30 years, and he counts being named 2012 Mohawk Floorscapes National Retailer of the Year as one of his greatest accomplishments.

“It’s an honor to win this award and join a distinguished group of retailers who have received this recognition before me,” said Flick. “I owe a lot of our success to our dedicated employees who work tirelessly every day to provide our customers with the best possible experience. I also give credit to Mohawk who has made our stores better in every way.”

Flick became a Mohawk Floorscapes retailer in 1999 and says it was the best business decision he’s ever made. He is proud to support Mohawk in every aspect of his business, and says the company continues to provide the best tools and most innovative products in the flooring industry.

“Mohawk has great people, commitment to excellence and an innovative spirit. I think that’s what makes them successful. I’d like to think we at The Floor Store embody those same three traits.”

The Floor Store has 6 locations and is about to open their 7th.

“Larry and his team have been named Regional Retailer of the Year several times in the past. It takes a very good operation to take home that honor more than once. This year, we’re thrilled that they captured the coveted Floorscapes National Retailer of the Year award. It is an honor they have truly earned in every way”, said Nichols.
