The National Floorcovering Alliance met in Banff, Alberta, Canada, for its spring 2024 meeting, and members report that the first quarter has been a roller coaster thanks the uncertainty of the economy and upcoming election.
"It started slow, got busy and then some have picked up traffic, so it's been a little bit of a mixed bag," said Ian Newton, president of Flooring 101 in Oxnard, California, who is also the NFA board president. "I think for the most part, everybody's consensus is there's business there; it's just not as busy as it has been, which is understandable."
In response, NFA vendor partners amped up product strategies for 2024. Twice a year, vendors and NFA members come together to strategize business-boosting strategies. Sharing best practices among members and sharing ideas continues to be a core value of the NFA.
Here are highlights of what they discussed at their meetings.
