FCICA, the Flooring Contractors Association, reports that it held a successful 2022 Mid-Year Meeting, October 10 - 12, at the Lago Mar Beach Resort & Club in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  

Flooring industry professionals, commercial flooring contractors, distributors, manufacturers and consultants attended two full days featuring an opening keynote speaker, four education sessions, seven product demonstrations, networking opportunities and leadership committee meetings - all to advance the success of FCICA members and put into action its mission. The meeting was the first in-person Mid-Year since 2019.

Monday evening’s Welcome Reception kicked off the meeting. There, early attendees socialized and networked in Lago Mar's Fountainview Lobby overlooking the pool and ocean beyond. Tuesday, the first full event day, FCICA Board Chairman Pat Kelly, president, Synergy Flooring, Ltd., welcomed attendees, officially opened the event and introduced Keynote Speaker, Randy Weis, executive vice president, Diverzify. Randy's keynote, 'Is the Past an Accurate Predictor of the Future?' addressed current industry challenges, opportunities and how to plan for the future. The keynote was generously sponsored by Diverzify and Synergy Flooring, Ltd.

Following opening remarks and the keynote kick-off were two education sessions and six product demonstrations from Divergent Adhesives, Laticrete International, Mapei, Protect-All Flooring, Sunbelt Rentals and Wolff/Uzin Utz. The education and membership committees met to implement FCICA's strategic goals. In between and over lunch, attendees socialized and networked. 

Day Two featured two education sessions and a product demonstration from Floorcloud. The Next Gen/Successors Committee met over lunch to reintroduce this Committee and encourage involvement. The silent auction donors presented their donations prior to the auction closing. After lunch, contractors, consultants and honorary members were invited to a Mapei concrete production plant and R&D facility tour. Meanwhile, associate members were invited to the hotel putting course to socialize. The Meeting ended with an evening cocktail reception sponsored by Mapei Corporation. The final program was held on Thursday; FCICA Board of Directors conducted its annual committee meeting to discuss Association business.
