Global Flooring Alliance (GFA) announced Einar Gottskalksson as the new president of the association. He will succeed Carlo Cavinato who served as president for a number of years. Matjaz Stefan will stay on as treasurer and Jos Krijnen as secretary. Gottskalksson was elected as president by the participants in the last GFA-meeting in Hannover, Germany. Fifteen years ago, Einar’s father Gottskalk Eggertsson also served as president of the alliance.

During the meeting, which was held simultaneously with Domotex, several topics were discussed. GFA was impressed by the high standards and the quality of the products that were shown by the exhibitors at Domotex 2018 as well as the upbeat mood at the fair. GFA noted that, given the increasing number of exhibitors in this segment, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) products continue to play an important role in the flooring trade.

GFA membership is open to one parquet importer/distributor per country to avoid conflicting national interests. Global Flooring Alliance organizes two meetings per year, one at the Domotex trade fair in Hannover and one in the country of an alliance member. The aims of the association are to promote hard surface flooring products in general and to exchange product, market, and technical information in the broadest sense. The members also give each other mutual assistance in strategic purchasing opportunities.
