Välinge and USFloors have signed a cross-license agreement that gives Välinge the semi-exclusive right to sub-license USFloors IP related to WPC products including the COREtec technology.
In 2012, USFloors filed the U.S. patent application entitled "Engineered Waterproof Flooring and Wall Covering Plank", which described a WPC flooring and wall plank. This U.S. patent application has resulted in three issued patents: U.S. 9,156,233, U.S. 9,193,137 and the recently issued U.S. 9,234,357. The patents are relevant for planks having a waterproof core comprising a plastic composite. Corresponding patent applications have also been filed in a number of countries and regions, including Europe and China.
“USFloors have made an excellent job introducing the technology on the market. We are very happy to now be able to offer this growing technology to our licensees,” says Välinge CEO, Niclas Håkansson.
“We are excited to announce this license partnership with Välinge. We believe this IP related to COREtec technology and WPC products has helped USFloors create a leading position in the flooring industry’s currently fastest growing category. Välinge´s experience in licensing will allow further growth under protection of the USFloors patent portfolio,” says Piet Dossche, CEO and owner of USFloors.
The license right for Välinge is exclusive with the exception of Flooring Industries who have also been granted semi-exclusive rights by USFloors on the same patents.
