Parex USA's new Merkrete Fracture Guard FD.

Parex USA, the parent company of Merkrete, Parex, Teifs, LaHabra and El Rey, has launch Merkrete Fracture Guard FD, a fast drying, liquid applied crack isolation membrane that provides a thin protection layer to inhibit substrate crack transfers up to 1/8 inch, according to the company.

With its fast drying properties and liquid formula, Fracture Guard FD can be used for interior and exterior applications and conforms to any shape or pattern, thus allowing for various architectural designs. Fracture Guard FD is applied in two coats and installers can begin setting tile over it within as little as four hours. 

"Many job sites today require materials to set faster in order for the project to move along quicker, and Merkrete’s Fracture Guard FD provides a solution for that,” says Luciano Tavares, brand manager for Merkrete. “From applying the crack isolation membrane, to setting the tile, this new product allows for same day tile installations."  

According to Tavares, Fracture Guard FD can be used in both residential and commercial projects and works best when used with the entire Merkrete Rapid Set system which includes Underlay RS, 720 RS and Pro Grout.
