Shaw Industries has purchased Zickgraf Hardwood Flooring. The 55-year-old, Franklin, N.C.-based company is best known for its range of solid hardwood flooring. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to Vance D. Bell, Shaw's CEO, the move will help expand Shaw's reach in the hardwood category. “Zickgraf has excellent capabilities in solid wood manufacturing and allows Shaw to continue rounding out our product portfolio in the hardwood category," he said. "With our innovative Epic product line, the multidimensional capability of Anderson and now solid wood manufacturing, Shaw has one of the most comprehensive product offerings in the wood industry. We look forward to further growth in this category."
F. P. Bodenheimer, chairman and CEO of Zickgraf, said the acquisition will lead "to expansion and growth" for both companies. “The combined strengths of Zickgraf and Shaw Industries will allow Zickgraf to continue exceeding the expectations of our valued customers for many years to come," he said, adding that "the communities of Franklin and Bryson City will have the benefits of a financially strong company and a corporate leader in the industry.”
