Mohawk Group has unveiled a new commercial flooring collection that merges scientific research with biophilic design to promote workplace wellness.

The Fractal Findings collection, developed in partnership with 13&9 Design and fractal researcher Dr. Richard Taylor, features carpet tiles with patterns based on natural fractals—repeating designs found in snowflakes, coastlines, and other natural phenomena.

Research by Dr. Taylor demonstrates that exposure to these fractal patterns can decrease stress levels and improve cognitive performance. The collection includes two 24" x 24" styles: discoverD, inspired by animal migration paths, and exploreD, which mirrors sea ice formations.

"Science has shown us the power of fractal patterns to reduce stress and promote well-being," said Jackie Dettmar, Mohawk Group's vice president of product, design, and marketing. "With Fractal Findings, we're bringing this knowledge to life."

The Living Product Challenge Petal Certified collection is manufactured at Mohawk's Glasgow, Virginia, facility using ColorStrand solution-dyed nylon fiber and EcoFlex Matrix backing. Available in neutral base colors with vibrant accent options, the collection aims to create commercial spaces that enhance occupant well-being while maintaining design flexibility.
