Laticrete reports that its distributor partner Frank Donahue, owner and regional director of Best Tile North Carolina, is leading a charge to airdrop supplies to those impacted by recent hurricanes.

Donahue and his son are devoted aviators who are volunteering their time, resources, and expertise to bring aid to the hardest-hit, most remote areas through Operation Airdrop and Total Flight Solutions in Louisville, North Carolina.

Donahue has served as an Army Reserve Officer in various capacities, having achieved the rank of Captain. He has also worked as a private contractor in the Special Warfare SERE program. He volunteered as president of the Ceramic Tile Distributors Association from 2013-2014.

Total Flight Solutions operated helicopter evacuation and supply missions in Western North Carolina in response to the effects of Hurricane Helene.

Operation Airdrop is a Texas-based 501(c)(3) non-profit that organizes general aviation assets in the aftermath of a natural disaster. Founded in the wake of Hurricane Harvey in 2017, Operation Airdrop specializes in post-Atlantic hurricane flooding recovery. The organization has delivered 1.75 million pounds of donations over more than 1,700 flight missions.

The grassroots effort relies on donations of every size to make it happen, and the North Carolina volunteers are looking for donations to cover the cost of fuel and supplies. Any funds collected in excess of helicopter operational costs will be donated to recovery efforts in Western North Carolina.
