Lili Tile, a boutique tile company based in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, announced the launch of carbon-absorbing cement tiles. The company has worked with environmental concrete technology company Carbon Limit to create a proprietary chemical blend that allows the tiles to actively capture and mineralize carbon dioxide during the drying process.

The tiles are primarily handcrafted in Vietnam using high-quality portland cement. The company says that testing has shown that the new carbon-absorbing tiles are more durable than traditional cement tiles. In addition to their carbon-absorbing properties, the cement tiles are still designed using the company's existing traditional methods. This includes a slow drying process that does not require a kiln, which helps to reduce the tiles' overall carbon footprint. Lili's new carbon-absorbing tiles are available for both residential and commercial projects and can be used in a variety of applications, including flooring, walls, and outdoor spaces.
