Flooring and sports surface solutions company Tarkett has released its 2023 Corporate Social & Environmental Responsibility (CSR) Report, showcasing significant sustainability accomplishments and leadership. The report highlights that Tarkett has reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 47% at its production sites over the past four years and has increased the proportion of women in management positions. Tarkett's climate roadmap was approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in early 2023 and the company was awarded a leadership level A- score by CDP for its climate action.

Additionally, sustainability rating agency EcoVadis ranked Tarkett in the top two percent of all organizations it rates and awarded the company a Gold Medal. Tarkett's 2023 CSR Report also includes specific emissions reductions and recycling milestones from its North American operations.

In 2023, 44% of the company's total energy consumption came from renewable energies and Tarkett decreased its Scope 3 value chain emissions by 14% versus 2019. Tarkett's Ohio-based Chagrin Falls and Middlefield plants were among the 13 production sites that sourced 100% of their electricity from renewable energies.

The company also made progress towards its goal of sourcing 30% of its raw materials from recycled sources by using 154,000 tons of recycled materials as an alternative to virgin materials. Tarkett's North American operations diverted an estimated 1.5 million pounds of post-use flooring to recycling and the company’s FieldTurf division recycled 146 tons of materials through its Goal Zero infill take-back program.

Tarkett has also incorporated post-use polyvinyl butyral (PVB) recycled from laminated safety glass in its flooring solutions. To date, the company has reused around 44,200 tons of PVB films.
