The winners of The International Surface Event (TISE) National Installer of the Year Competition were announced on Thursday, February 2 on the Surfaces Stage. Eight competitors spent two days working on complex work orders in the carpet and wood categories.

Taking home the win in the hardwood category was Hugo Hernandez, MS Rouse Company, Covina, California. Hernandez competed in the San Leandro, California West Coast Regional Competition and won the wood category

Roy Lewis, Eagle Floorcovering Supplies, Phenix City, Alabama won the carpet category. He competed in the Orlando, Florida Southeast Regional Competition and won the carpet category.

Sponsors include the International Certified Flooring Installers (CFI) and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) and the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA). The category sponsors are Performance Accessories for hardwood, Mohawk for carpet, QEP/Roberts for tools and Taylor Adhesives for adhesive products.
