Green, Ohio-based Barrington Carpet & Flooring Design has acquired Young’s Carpet One Floor & Home in Port Clinton, Ohio, a retailer who has been in business for 65 years.

"Young’s is positioned as a market leader with an experienced staff and loyal customers," said Barrington President Craig Phillips.

The acquisition will be finalized on January 4, 2021, and will continue to operate as Young’s Carpet One Floor & Home, managed by Pete Spieldenner. Spieldenner and Lisa Johnson are a third-generation flooring retailers. Young's was established by their grandfather Kenny Young in 1955. 

Barrington, established in 1978 as Design Carpet Warehouse, is a charter member of the Mohawk Floorscapes program and a recipient of the 2018 Mohawk Edge Retailer of the Year award. Barrington services Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Michigan and Eastern Indiana and specializes in new construction, custom builder, retail, commercial and multi-family floor coverings.
