Mohawk is supporting safety precautions as local students, teachers and staff return to school.
The Company recently made several large donations in northwest Georgia prior to the beginning of the school year:
- Calhoun City Schools: 4,250 water bottles and 420 cannisters of disinfectant wipes
- Dalton Public Schools: 500 gallons of hand sanitizer
- Gordon County Schools: 6,700 water bottles, 840 cannisters of disinfectant wipes and 100 boxes to cover water fountains
- Whitfield County Schools: 500 gallons of hand sanitizer
“We reached out to our local schools and asked what we could provide that would best help students and teachers safely make the transition back to in-person learning,” said Becky Redd, Mohawk’s director of talent management. “Everyone’s top priority right now is keeping each other healthy and limiting the spread of COVID-19. We’re so glad we could support our communities with these donations so that everyone can return to the classroom with confidence.”
Members of the Flooring North America human resources and supply chain teams partnered to coordinate the donations and deliveries. More than 4,700 Mohawk employees currently live in Gordon and Whitfield counties, where these items were donated.
