Capel Rugs recently appointed Cindy Green as product design and development assistant. In this position, a new one at the company, Green will assist with domestic and import product development as well as help with sample development and sales coordination. Her product development responsibilities will include providing design and creative input for the Capel line of products, proprietary products, licensed products and import products. Green also will assist with the development of new yarn systems required for domestic product development. She will report to Richard Capel, director of manufacturing; John Harrison, general manager of Capel Rugs’ import division; and Cameron Capel.

Green joins Capel Rugs from Global Textile Alliance, where she was the first designer hired by GTA and served for 14 years as senior designer. Previously, Green was a stylist and print designer for Culp Home Fashions. She has a bachelor’s degree in fine arts/design from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.

Green is an active member of the Color Marketing Group, the premier international association for color design professionals. She currently serves as a member of CMG’s board of directors and vice chair of the North American ChromaZones Committee. She also is a member of WithIT, the women’s leadership development network.
