Rick Elfman
Rick Elfman and wife Holly Elfman started Flooring Solutions Inc. in July 1990 when they relocated from the Boston area to the Bay Area in Northern California. Rick is third-generation in the floor covering business. His grandfather Ben started Ben Elfman Co. in Boston in 1907 and his father Malcolm joined him after fighting in Patton’s army in the Battle of the Bulge and attending the University of Pennsylvania in 1947. After graduating from Syracuse University in 1976, Rick worked in the business with his father for 13 years. Holly and Rick ventured to the West Coast to establish FSI. FSI is headquartered in Livermore, Calif., which is in the East Bay of San Francisco. In order to keep up with demand, a showroom located in the Jackson Square neighborhood of San Francisco was built specifically to support the architecture and design community.
