The International Certified Flooring Installers (CFI) association is putting on both residential and commercial carpet certifications at the new Natural Fiber Installer Certification training facility in Jasper, Georgia, March 23 to 24.

Flooring installation veteran Robert Varden and Val Chestohin, Lead Floor Covering Instructor DC 16 FTI Northern California and Nevada of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT), announced the development of a new, intensive four-day certification program called Masters Commercial Carpet Certification.

Mannington Mills and Congoleum donated the flooring used in the training for resilient and luxury vinyl plank (LVP) certification, which ran March 2-3, 2023, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. 

Women in the Floorcovering Industry (WIFI), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that empowers women in the flooring industry celebrated its first in-person meet-up at The International Surfaces Event in Las Vegas.

The Lowe's Foundation announced a $50 million commitment over the next five years to prepare 50,000 people for skilled trades careers through grants to community and technical colleges and community-based nonprofits. 

Kicking off March 2: Women in the Floorcovering Industry (WIFI), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that empowers women in the floor covering industry, has announced monthly programming: the WIFI Power Hour. 

The discussion entitled, “Designing a Business You Love,” will draw on each of the panelists' experiences in building a design-oriented brand with staying power.

In March, the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) will hold 20 NTCA Workshops and six Regional Training Events across the country. 

The continuing education curriculum will focus on lock systems, advances in laminate flooring manufacturing, noise claims, manufacturer’s installation requirements, water claims, best practices, manufacturing points of contact, inspection reporting, and certification testing.
