The Product Stewardship Institute (PSI) will host a free Webinar called Carpet & Mattress Stewardship in Rural Areas on Tuesday, June 30 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. EST.

This fourth and final Webinar in PSI's series on product stewardship solutions in rural areas will assist solid waste collectors in planning for the management of carpet and mattresses—two bulky, difficult-to-handle items that require certain infrastructure to be reused or recycled, according to the institute.

Featuring a diverse panel of speakers, this Webinar will walk attendees through best practices for setting up the infrastructure for carpet and mattress stewardship programs. It will present information about the amount of collection space required, transportation requirements, appropriate processing centers and materials recovery.

The Webinar will also discuss ways in which all states can increase recycling opportunities and build capacity for carpet and mattress stewardship legislation.
