Paul Armstrong has been promoted to Mohawk's national wood manager/business development for the hard surface division. In this role, he is responsible for maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of Mohawk hardwood sales and promotional outreach throughout the country.
Armstrong, who has 30 years of experience in hardwood product management, sales, product/installation training and claims resolution, joined Mohawk as the Northeast region hardwood specialist in 2008.
Prior to joining Mohawk, he served as vice president of SPI Floors' wood flooring division. During his tenure there, he helped triple hardwood flooring sales through his strategic vision and creative direction.
"Mohawk is laser-focused on bringing great value, products and service to our dealers and their customers,” said Jamie Byrne, senior vice president, Mohawk hard surfaces. “To accomplish our goals, we needed someone who was respected throughout the industry and who has a keen understanding of marketing principles and sales strategy to help us move the ball forward. We found that with Paul.”
Armstrong added, “With Mohawk’s diverse hardwood product offerings, we have an enormous opportunity to garner market share in the immediate and long-term future. I am honored by this promotion and energized by the prospect of building market position by locating and developing business and closing sales.”
Prior to his work at SPI, Armstrong was a sales representative for J.J. Haines, where he served retail, builder, contractor and architectural and design companies. Armstrong has received various sales and performance awards throughout his career.
