Nourison is set to acquire Hagaman Carpet, a manufacturer specializing in wool products. The acquisition is expected to be completed during the first quarter, according to Alex Peykar, principal, Nourison.

The purchase of Hagaman Carpet, based in Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga., gives Nourison its first manufacturing base in the U.S. and enhances its machine tufting capability.

"Hagaman's specialized tufting equipment is well suited for making luxury wool carpet. It will allow us to create products and programs to complement Nourison's existing lines, as well as expand and enhance the well-respected Hagaman brand in the upscale carpet market," Peykar said.

"Hagaman is known for the beautiful, unique wool carpet it manufactures. We have long been fully vertical and innovative overseas and we look forward to the opportunity to produce and develop high quality products right here in North Georgia," said Andrew Peykar, Nourison's COO.

Nourison will continue to manufacture products under Hagaman Carpet, adding this brand to its existing broadloom product portfolio, which currently includes Nourison Carpet, Nourtex Carpet and Nourison Hospitality.

Hagaman will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Nourison. The Hagaman product line will have a dedicated sales force reporting to Don Karlin, director of broadloom sales. Gerard O'Keefe, vice president of sales for Nourison will oversee the Hagaman division.
