Boyd Marks has joined Capel Rugs as manager of sales for Alabama and the Panhandle region of Florida.

A dedicated and respected sales representative, Marks has worked with some of the best-known brands in the Southeast. During his 18 years as a sales representative, he has performed traditional sales duties, overseen product displays, trained sales staff, monitored store operations and fostered relationships with key accounts throughout his territory. 

"Boyd's proven success in merchandising, purchasing and sales made him the ideal candidate for this position," said Allen Robertson, vice president of sales for Capel Rugs. "Boyd will enable us to dramatically increase service to our furniture and flooring customers in these strategic market areas." 

Marks began his career in 1988 in Nashville, Tenn., as director of merchandising for American Sofa. He then worked with Marks Fitzgerald Furniture as an assistant upholstery buyer, special order specialist, upholstery and table buyer, assistant to the general manager and regional upholstery buyer. Following store management roles with Farmer's Furniture and La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, Marks embarked on his current career as a furniture sales representative, recently winning several sales contests. 

Marks is based in Fairhope, Ala., just 30 minutes from the Florida state line. He will continue to leverage his existing relationships with dealers in the Gulf Coast region, including Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, Destin, Panama City, Apalachicola and Pensacola.
