H.J. Martin and Son took great pride in its recent contributions to a new health clinic for military veterans on the east side of Green Bay. The Milo C. Huempfner VA Outpatient Clinic opened on Aug. 19. The $60-million facility improves care for veterans in Northeast Wisconsin, many of whom previously traveled to Milwaukee and beyond for services.
H.J. Martin installed all of the sheet vinyl within the 161,000-square-foot clinic. Much of the install involved flash coving and three-wall, direct-scribe work, which is a prerequisite for any medical facility as a way to prevent bacteria at the flooring base.
“This was a very challenging installation for our on-site crew because of the cove base flooring,” says H.J. Martin CEO Edward Martin. “We loved doing this work because of who benefitted from it. Our company has a strong affinity for military veterans.”
CD Smith Construction of Fond du Lac, Wis., served as the general contractor on the project. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house was held at the VA health clinic on Aug. 15.
