David Zack, president, Flooring Inspections of Michigan and the Floor Detective team, has announced the launch of the new website www.floordetective.com. Zack, author of The Carpet Book – Claims Guide, says the site offers “a detailed diagnostic guide developed to provide floor covering professionals with the ability to easily identify and understand consumer complaints and their causes through a single resource.”
Geared toward flooring retailers, inspectors, claims analysts, regional sales reps, interior designers, builders and consumers, The Floor Detective version 1.0 will cover carpet issues with hundreds of high-resolution photographs, field-testing suggestions and industry standards. Subscribers will also be able to locate a certified inspector anywhere in the United States or Canada. Additionally, a mobile iPad app will be available soon.
“The detailed information from the Floor Detective can be cited when writing reports for claims, including manufacturing defects, installation issues maintenance complaints and normal usage characteristics. The information provided is written in basic terms that both a seasoned professional or novice homeowner can understand,” Zack noted.
Future versions of the website will also include diagnostics for hard surface flooring including wood, vinyl and laminate. Subscriptions to the site are $60 per year. For more information, visit www.floordetective.com or e-mail David Zack at flooringinspections@gmail.com.
