KANSAS CITY, MO -- Tile Contractors' Association of America (TCAA) has announced that it awarded the designation of Trowel of Excellence Certified Contractor to Trostrud Mosaic & Tile Co., Inc. of Wood Dale, IL.

Trostrud is the 23rd company to achieve Trowel of Excellence status since the certification program was started in 2006, and it joins the ranks of distinguished contractors who have demonstrated their commitment to quality by qualifying for Trowel of Excellence certification.

Trostrud Mosaic & Tile will be formally recognized at this year's TCAA convention being held Sept. 15-18 at the Renaissance Marriott in historic downtown Charleston, SC.

The Trowel of Excellence was introduced by TCAA in 2006 as a way to recognize outstanding tile, terrazzo and stone installation companies, and it provides architects, designers and specifiers a yardstick by which to measure a company's business practices and performance. Companies applying for the designation of Trowel of Excellence Certified Con-tractor must meet stringent criteria that demonstrate superior technical knowledge and craftsmanship, sound business management, fiscal responsibility, effective safety practices and adherence to the highest industry standards. The Trowel of Excellence is recognized in the TCNA Handbook.
