MAPEI sponsors MIA's Pinnacle Awards
MAPEI Americas CEO Luigi Di Geso appeared at the podium to hand out the Pinnacle Awards during the Marble Institute of America’s awards luncheon at StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas 2011 in Las Vegas. The awards went to stone fabricators and installers whose natural-stone projects were judged the best of the best from all the work done in 2010.
Some contestants won multiple awards. Among the 15 awards presented for 12 projects, Stones and Roses International Company of Thailand received three awards – Commercial Interior Award of Excellence, Commercial Interior Award of Merit and Residential Interior/Exterior Award of Merit.
“We greatly enjoyed sponsoring the MIA Pinnacle Awards this year,” Di Geso said. “MAPEI has been in the business of manufacturing systems for the installation of tile and stone since 1937, and we appreciate the beauty and sustainable legacies created by the craftsmen from these companies. We are proud that many of them use our products to construct these incredible examples of modern architecture.”
Four awards were given for collaboration on a single project for the renovation/restoration of the O.C. Tanner Flagship Jewelry Store in Salt Lake City, Utah. The four recipients were KEPCO+ of Salt Lake City, Utah; Valders Stone and Marble, Inc., of Valders, Wisconsin; Vytek Laser Systems of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, and Decoro Art Stone of West Jordan, Utah. These businesses joined forces to renovate the historic 104-year-old Salt Lake City Library building into a unique stone work of art that showcases O.C. Tanner’s luxurious gemstones.
