IVC US Inc., the North American subsidiary of resilient flooring maker IVC Group, has named Paul Murfin president of IVC US, effective Sept. 6. In his new position, Murfin will be in charge of sales, marketing and product development. He will report to Xavier Steyaert, IVC US ceo.

“Paul has an enviable history of success in the flooring industry,” Steyaert said. “He has a wealth of experience and a unique network that will be of tremendous value to a young and fast growing company such as IVC US.”

Murfin has spent more than 20 years in various leadership roles in the North American floor coverings industry, amongst others as a president of a major floor coverings distributor, Misco Shawnee, and most recently as vp residential sales with Armstrong World Industries.

“Paul’s appointment further strengthens our commitment to become the leading U.S.-based manufacturer of various resilient floor covering categories,” stated Jan Vergote, IVC Group ceo. “It is the board’s view that his profound understanding of our customer’s needs will create a platform for continued high growth.”

“We explicitly wish to thank Stefaan Debusschere, IVC’s current vp sales & marketing, for bringing IVC to North America and positioning the company to make the transition from a distributor to a major U.S. manufacturer. After the necessary debriefing period until the end of 2011, Stefaan will take up the Belgium based role of International Business Development Director for Moduleo, IVC’s new LVT Business Unit. We wish Stefaan a lot of success in this exciting and challenging new role,” he added.
