Consolidated Carpet, based in New York City, has partnered with Bentley Prince Street and The Salvadori Center to host a 2011 Celebrate Earth event for New York City schoolchildren. The event will be held at the Bentley Prince Street Showroom at 91 Fifth Ave., New York City on May 18, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Celebrate Earth is a hands-on learning workshop designed to promote sustainable design principles. New York City design firms and partners will work with groups of sixth to eighth grade children, identified by The Salvadori Center, a non-profit dedicated to math and science education for children in New York City schools. Prizes will be awarded to each child and gifts given to adult designers for their participation.

Consolidated Carpet supports its clients with reclamation programs through their ConServe Reclamation initiative, so that flooring materials will be recycled instead of going into landfills. Consolidated Carpet will showcase some of the latest environmental technologies and green techniques being used by the flooring industry at the event.
