Ten Thousand Villages, a retailer located at 567 S. Lake Ave. in Pasadena, Calif., will be holding a Fair Trade Oriental Rug Event, May 19-22. Every rug sold during the event will go toward providing jobs to rug artisans in flood-stricken Pakistan, according to the retailer.

Approximately 300 rugs, each handmade in Pakistani homes, will be available for sale in a variety of unique designs and sizes ranging from 2’ by 3’ to 10’ by 14’ and runners. Additionally, a seminar called "An Introduction to Oriental Rugs" will be held at the store on Thursday, May 19 at 7 p.m.

The event is a partnership between Ten Thousand Villages and Bunyaad, a fair trade artisan group in Pakistan.
