BASF to raise products prices on April 15
BASF says it will increase prices on April 15 for Styrofan, Styronal, Butonal and Butofan products in the United States and Canada.
Styrofan and Styronal -- two styrene-butadiene latex products that are used in adhesives, architectural coatings, sealants, construction and non-wovens markets -- will go up six cents per wet pound. Butonal and Butofan -- which are styrene-butadiene high and medium solids latex products that are used in adhesives, carpet, construction, fiber bonding, automotive and foam markets -- will increase eight cents per wet pound.
The increases are a result of significant increases in costs for raw materials as well as rising energy costs, according to BASF.
