Wood flooring maker Pinnacle Interior Elements has earned Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Forest Management certification from the Rainforest Alliance's SmartWood program. This signifies the company has met stringent environmental, social and economic criteria and is recognized for practicing responsible forest management.
"Growing concerns regarding legal logging practices and sustainability of the world's forests prompted us to pursue FSC certification," said Brenda Cashion, Pinnacle's vp operations. "Our first step was ensuring that our company and suppliers were compliant with the provisions of the Lacey Act Amendments of 2008."
"The addition of this certification ensures our customers that we are sincere and committed to producing high quality, legally harvested and sustainable harwood flooring," she added. "We are proud to be a part of this vitally important initiative."
