Hanwha L&C USA recently commemorated the grand opening of its Canadian manufacturing facility. “In keeping with Hanwha’s ongoing commitment to environmentally friendly production, the 200,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility in Canada will utilize the latest environmentally responsible manufacturing processes,” the company notes.

The facility’s first phase of production will be the manufacturing of HanStone™ Fine Quartz surfaces for kitchen countertops, vanities and other surfaces for US residential and commercial markets. The manufacturing facility will also be equipped with BretonTM Technology.

With the initial investment of $70 plus million for the construction of the facility, Hanwha says it is demonstrating a significant commitment to better service not only in the U.S. architectural and design industries, but also global markets in an eco-friendly manner.

Daniel Yu, President and CEO for Hanwha L & C USA remarked “Our new facility being built in London, Ontario will be the most advanced, nature-friendly manufacturing plant in the Fine Quartz Surface business, and will produce top quality HanStone products for our customers. We are confident that our HanStone™ Fine Quartz Surface and Hanwha L&C USA sustainable business will continue to grow and be successful in North America with continual strong support from the architectural and design industry segments.”

Hanwha adds that its investment in the Canadian plant and recent USGBC (U.S. Green Business Council) membership demonstrates its commitment to providing “superior surfacing solutions for sustainable designs and construction applications, - catapulting the company to a true global leader status.”

Further, in order to continuously supply the U.S. market with green surface solutions, Hanwha L&C USA has begun preparing for future expansions, with plans to increase the Canadian facility by 180,000 square feet investing an additional $40 million.
