For the fourth year in a row, Shaw Industries received honors from the California Environmental Protection Agency for diverting more than 11 million pounds of recyclables from landfills to four Shaw flooring plants in California. Shaw received a Waste Reduction Award Program (WRAP) nod for its efforts, which saved the state an estimated $1.85 million.

“By finding alternatives to recycle industrial waste material, the Shaw plants have significantly reduced disposal and transportation costs,” said Rick Ramirez, Shaw’s vp sustainability and environmental affairs.”

The four Shaw plants in California that helped Shaw win the award make Tuftex, The New Patcraft & Designweave carpet products.
