NWFA’s 2008 meeting drew more than 3,400 attendees and 307 exhibitors.

The changing face of the hardwood flooring segment was readily apparent at the National Wood Flooring Association’s Education Conference and Wood Flooring Expo. With more than 3,400 attendees and 307 exhibitors on hand for the four-day meeting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the focus was on building the business in a challenging economy.

“Although the industry is down between 15 to 20 percent, we were pleasantly surprised that our attendance this year was down less than 100 people from 2007,” commented NWFA executive director and CEO, Ed Korczak. “The entire focus of the education conference was on surviving in a down market.”

Demonstrations on the show floor, included Moisture Barriers, Unique Finishes, Stairs & Railings, Xtreme Makeover on a Budget, Moisture Testing & Acclimation, and Floor Repairs: Boards & Finish. NFL Hall of Fame coach Don Shula was the keynote speaker.
