Maryanne Adams to Lead 14-store Avalon

Tile and Flooring has named Maryanne Adams president and CEO. She succeeds Avalon owner and
president John P. Millar who died of a
heart attack March 16. Adams has been with Avalon for over 20 years
and served as executive vice president for the past 12 years.
In announcing the appointment, Avalon officials noted that Millar had “directed that Adams continue his vision as leader of the company he had formed.” The statement added that Avalon’s management team will honor Millar by “continuing his tradition of excellence.”
Avalon, which was founded by his Millar’s father William Millar with one store in 1958, now includes 14 locations with stores in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. It is based in Cherry Hill, N.J.
