Four major trade organizations are joining forces to bring tile professionals two free events outlining the progress of the tile industry. The National Tile Contractors Association, Tile Contractors Association of America, International Masonry Institute and International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers will present "Embracing Change in the Tile Industry" Oct. 18 and 19 at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown and the Merchandise Mart of Chicago respectively.

The program is slated to include "Tile Trends, Technology & Myths" presented by renowned tile consultant Patti Fasan, with a special focus on the ways in which sales training and specification must evolve to meet rapidly expanding technological advances.

The meeting will also feature a panel discussion led by top industry experts on current issues facing the industry in the areas of specification, installation, design, craftworker training and contractor certification.

Additionally, Eric Astrachan of the Tile Council of North America will outline changes to the TCNA handbook, and Michael Johnson of Michael P. Johnson Design Studio will discuss large-format porcelain tile in ventilated wall systems and elevated floor systems..

The day-long events meet IIDA and AIA/CES requirements for Continuing Education, and are sponsored by Coverings, Tile of Spain, Laticrete, CTDA, Ceramic Tiles of Italy, Dal-Tile and TCNA.
