Dave Stafford, executive vp of Commercial Carpets of America, announced that he plans to retire April 30. The 21-year company veteran noted, "It has been a great experience and I've enjoyed the variety of opportunities that have been presented. However, I'd like to have the time to do other things and spend more time with my family."

To smooth the transition, Stafford plans to work with CCA as a consultant for contracts and the human resources department in the coming months.

Daryl Reinke, CCA president, said that Stafford will be missed. "Dave has been an integral part of this company, the growth CCA has achieved, and the large footprint we have established," he said.

Founded in 1972, CCA is an Alexandria, Va.-based flooring retailer offering products in both the commercial and residential channels. A member of both Carpet One and StarNet Flooring Cooperative, CCA has worked with more than 100,000 clients and installed more than 90 million square feet of flooring products, according to the company.

Said Stafford, "It has been my pleasure to see CCA assume a dominant position in the Northern Virginia marketplace with its Residential Group and two Carpet One locations, the ProSource wholesale group, the Commercial Group which features StarNet membership, and the Government Group with its federal government GSA Contracts as well as various local and state government term contracts."
