John B. “Jack” Gundlach, board chairman and former president, general manager and owner of Belleville, IL-based Beno J. Gundlach Co., died March 14 after a three-and-a-half month battle with illness. He was 74.

Gundlach served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and later in the U.S. Army Reserves. In 1949, he graduated from St. Louis University with a degree in Commerce and Finance. He is survived by wife Catherine, daughters Jane and Joan, and sons Gregory, Jeffery Karl and Stephen.
