Prices will increase by 3 percent on engineered products, by 5 percent on all Longstrip products and by 8 percent on all solids and the Passport: Australia Longstrip line.
The increases are necessary to allow Harris Tarkett to maintain adequate inventory levels so that the company can continue to meet its commitment to its customers, according to Dennis Hrusa, vice president of sales, Harris Tarkett.
"There are a number of market conditions that influenced our decision, but there's no doubt that the unseasonably wet summer had the most profound impact," Hrusa said. "With loggers unable to harvest enough logs to meet demand, the resulting shortages have caused lumber prices to increase dramatically."
