Mary Docker, the former CEO of Amtico Co. Ltd.'s U.S. subsidiary, Amtico USA, has opened, Halo Floors. The new Atlanta-based company, scheduled to launch at Surfaces 2005, will market a selection of architectural resilient flooring created primary for the commercial marketplace.
The company plans to offer more than 100 designs. "Once I knew what I wanted, I searched the world for a manufacturer that would make the product," said Docker, who noted that she found "the right fit on the island of Formosa."
Docker, who left Amtico about nine months ago, said her designs will encompass wood and stone visuals along with a line of specialty products that will offer "something different." The tiles included will be 1/8" thick, will meet ASTM and ADA standards and offer a 15-year wear warranty.
