Celia Blum of Celia Inc. has recently acquired Bennytex Carpet Mills Inc. Blum is a carpet industry veteran, known as a pioneer of the hot-melt process of fabricating custom area rugs. She designed and manufactured rugs in her facilities in Southern California for 15 years. She sold her manufacturing plant to Fabrica International in 1991 and managed that company's rug division for 10 years.

Blum's plans including utilizing Bennytex's old-world craftsmen, along with the company's specialized machinery, to create a running line of unique and timely custom carpets. Bennytex is a 47-year-old, Southern California-based specialty manufacturer of custom wool and nylon carpeting.
