Les Edmonds, co-owner of E & E Carpet Binding of Brunswick, Ohio, won the 2002 Decorative Rug Contest sponsored by the National Association of Rug Makers and Sculptors (NARMS). His winning entry depicts Spider-Man climbing up the side of a skyscraper with a busy street below.

Decorative rug makers throughout the United States and Canada competed in the contest. Entries were judged on the basis of workmanship, complexity, design choice, and overall appeal.

Edmonds' first-place rug will be displayed at various national and international markets throughout 2003, according to NARMS.
