The Classic Tile sales territory will include New Jersey, New York City metro area, upstate New York, parts of Pennsylvania, parts of Connecticut, western Massachusetts, and southern Vermont.
“Classic has a very strong relationship with their dealer base and an excellent reputation for service,” said Husak. “We are very pleased to have them representing Tarkett in these very important sales regions.”
“We have always specialized in the vinyl and resilient segments of the flooring business,” said Leah Teitel, president of Classic Tile. “It’s our strength and our specialty, and Tarkett is a very important addition to our mix.”
Classic Tile also will market Linosom linoleum under the Tarkett brand name, according to Teitel.
Classic Tile was founded in 1977. In addition to its Elizabeth location, the company has branch offices and warehousing in Kingston, N. Y. and Wallingford, Conn. and a showroom at the New York Design Center in New York City.
A sales force of 11 people will call on over 4,000 retailers in the region. Five specification representatives call on architects, specifiers and facilities managers.
