LINWOOD, Pa. -- Foamex International Inc. recently announced that Thomas E. Chorman has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. He will be responsible for all line and staff functions.

Foamex also announced that Peter W. Johnson, former President and Chief Operating Officer, has chosen to resign from the company.

Chorman joined Foamex in September of 2001 as executive vice president, chief financial officer and later assumed additional responsibilities as chief administrative officer of Foamex. The company will initiate a search for a new CFO.

Prior to joining Foamex, Chorman held executive roles in Ansell Healthcare Inc., Armstrong's Worldwide Floor Product Operations, and Procter & Gamble.
