Cosentino, the global surfaces manufacturer, has appointed Pilar Cosentino as its new CEO effective April 14, marking a significant milestone in the company's succession plan and corporate governance structure.
The appointment, announced by Cosentino's Board of Directors on April 9, sees the company adopting the governance best practice of separating the chairman and CEO roles. Francisco Martínez-Cosentino, 73, who currently holds both positions, will continue serving as chairman.
Pilar Cosentino, 46, brings over 20 years of experience with the company, having previously led Strategy, Talent Management, Digital Transformation, and information technology areas. She holds a law degree from Universidad Pontificia Comillas and an MBA from Instituto de Empresa Business School.
In related organizational changes, Eduardo Cosentino has been appointed as the sole executive vice president (EVP), expanding his responsibilities beyond his current role as CEO of Cosentino Americas to include marketing and digital business, expansion, and pricing. Additionally, Álvaro de la Haza will serve as Chief Corporate Officer reporting to the chairman.
The company is also establishing a new 10-member Management Committee to support the CEO and a 22-member Executive Committee focused on driving transformation through innovation and new technologies, including AI implementation.
