AHF Products announced a significant contribution to ongoing hurricane recovery efforts in Western North Carolina during a special broadcast of ABC's "Good Morning America."
The company donated $15,000 worth of its Armstrong Flooring Alterna engineered tile to the Rebuilding Hollers Foundation during GMA's "Asheville Rising" special, which highlighted the region's recovery journey following Hurricane Helene's catastrophic impact last year.
"This donation represents more than just flooring materials," said Catherine DelVecchio, vice president of marketing at AHF Products. "It's about helping families rebuild both their homes and their lives after such devastating losses."
The donation features the company's waterproof, scratch-resistant Alterna tiles, which are manufactured in Kankakee, Illinois, using more than 75 percent limestone. These American-made tiles provide the aesthetic appeal of traditional tile with enhanced comfort and durability—critical qualities for homes being reconstructed in areas vulnerable to future flooding events.
Hurricane Helene, which struck as a Category 4 storm before downgrading to a tropical storm, caused unprecedented flooding, landslides, and widespread destruction throughout Western North Carolina and neighboring southern states, claiming multiple lives and displacing thousands of residents.
The Rebuilding Hollers Foundation continues to coordinate recovery initiatives throughout the region. Those wishing to support their ongoing work can visit rebuildinghollers.org for more information.
