The nation's top flooring industry associations are joining forces to address pressing sustainability challenges at the second annual Flooring Sustainability Summit, scheduled for July 16-17, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
The two-day event, hosted at the historic Mayflower Hotel, brings together six major associations representing diverse segments of the flooring industry, including the Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI), National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA), Natural Stone Institute (NSI), North American Laminate Flooring Association (NALFA), Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI), and Tile Council of North America (TCNA).
This year’s Summit will take place at the storied Mayflower Hotel and bring together policymakers, advocacy groups, standards organizations, manufacturers, distributors, construction professionals, architects, designers, and procurement officers.
"The sustainability landscape of 2025 presents new challenges and opportunities," said Bill Griese, Summit chairman and TCNA deputy executive director. "This Summit has become the premier gathering for industry leadership in flooring and sustainability."
The conference will focus on three key areas: navigating the evolving sustainability landscape, implementing circular economy principles, and improving education across the supply chain. A pre-summit workshop will introduce newcomers to essential sustainability concepts and terminology.
Participants, including policymakers, manufacturers, architects, and procurement officers, will engage in panel discussions and working groups addressing critical issues such as environmental regulations, green building codes, and ESG principles. The summit will also explore practical strategies for reducing waste and conserving resources through circular economy practices.
Early registration discounts are currently available through the summit's website. The event builds on last year's inaugural summit and aims to strengthen the industry's collective approach to sustainable building practices and environmental responsibility.
