Belgium-based flooring technology provider i4F has formed a strategic partnership with China's Tianzhen Technology Co. Ltd (TZ) to develop next-generation sustainable flooring solutions using PET, recycled PET (rPET), and PETG materials.

The collaboration, announced from i4F's headquarters in Turnhout, Belgium, will see both companies jointly developing and filing patents for new products and manufacturing methods. i4F will hold exclusive rights to license these technologies to third-party manufacturers.

Several patent applications covering innovative rPET and PETG products and production methods are already in process, highlighting the partnership's early momentum in advancing sustainable flooring solutions.

"This partnership represents another vital step towards creating sustainable, high-performance flooring solutions," said John Rietveldt, CEO of i4F. He emphasized that the collaboration would expand access to meaningful new technologies through i4F's licensing platform.

TZ Chairman Fang Qinghua noted that the partnership aims to enable more environmentally conscious choices for consumers without compromising on style or durability.

The move comes as the flooring industry faces increasing pressure to develop more sustainable products and manufacturing processes.
