L. Fishman & Son, the parent company of Fishman Flooring Solutions, has acquired Northeast flooring distributor WJ Grosvenor. The transaction brings together two distribution companies with over 100 years of industry experience each.
WJ Grosvenor, established in 1910, operates seven branches across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The acquisition will maintain all 20 current Grosvenor employees and preserve the company's established brand name for the immediate future.
Bob Wagner, chairman and CEO of L. Fishman & Son, emphasized the strategic nature of the acquisition. "We have considered several acquisitions over the past few years, but they were not the right match for our business and our culture," Wagner said. "WJ Grosvenor, with its outstanding team of experienced employees in the flooring marketplace, is a terrific fit."
The merger promises expanded product access for New England flooring contractors, who will now have access to Fishman's comprehensive product lineup, including their Landmark Interiors collection of engineered hardwood, luxury vinyl tile and plank, water-resistant laminate, and sports flooring.
Baltimore, Maryland-based Fishman Flooring Solutions, which celebrated its centennial in 2019, currently employs approximately 290 people across 48 branches serving 18 states and the District of Columbia. The company distributes more than 26,000 products from over 150 vendor partners.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
