Organized by ASCER, the Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturers' Association, the panel of judges was presided over by the renowned architect Carme Pinós and included architect Jesús Olivares (COR Asociados Architects); designer Inma Bermúdez; director of Diariodesign, Gracia Cardona; and the architect and president of the Castellón Architects' Association, Susana Babiloni.

The Awards have a monetary prize of €15,000 for each of the first prizes in the architecture and interior design categories. The competition is sponsored by Endesa and the Valencia Port Authority and are supported by the Conselleria de Hacienda of the Valencian Government.

Architecture Winner
“Casa Puntiró” by Ripoll-Tizón Architecture Studio

Via unanimous decision, the jury awarded first prize for architecture to the project “Casa en Puntiró” in Mallorca, Spain, by Ripoll-Tizón architects’ studio. This is the architectural studio's second consecutive win.

This well-integrated project featured a coherent blend of materials and architectural formulae. Well-balanced attention was paid to materiality, structural aspects, and architectural solutions, clearly approached in a simultaneous way right from the beginning. The jury highlighted the architects' skilled choice of materials and the project’s finer architectural points.

Interior Design Winner
“Casa Isabel la Católica” by GRX Architects

The first prize for interior design went to the project "Isabel la Católica House in Granada, Spain. Drawing José María García de Paredes" by Agustín Gor Gómez (GRX Arquitectos).

In this project, the jury highlighted the use of a timeless, standard 10x10cm tile throughout the home, adapted to fit in with its plasticity. Movement is generated with just one tile model, and it is sufficiently versatile to clad all kinds of surfaces, even curved ones. The jury also praised the skillful choice of colors used throughout the project.
