Matthew Syler, 42, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on June 6, 2023, from a cardiac event. He founded Syler Group, LLC, in 2017, and left a significant impact on the flooring industry throughout his remarkable career as the founder of Bella Flooring Group and for his contributions while working at Beaulieu America. Syler was passionate about the flooring industry and worked tirelessly to help others succeed. 

Syler was born on January 27, 1981, to Kerry and Marie (Lunn) Syler of Lynchburg, Tennessee. His love for his family was evident to all who knew him well. In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived in death by his beloved wife, Britni, and their two beautiful children, Jacob (8) and Adalyn (3); siblings Leanne (Dirk) of Lynchburg and Kurt (Megan) of Greensboro, North Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

He graduated from Moore County High School in 1999, where he was passionate about youth ministry and football. He excelled at both, serving as an officer in youth group and at TAG Camp and was named a Mr. Football Finalist during his senior season. After graduating high school, Syler moved to Huntsville, Alabama, to obtain his bachelor of science in business administration at the University of Alabama Huntsville. During his years at UAH, he was a valued member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity and was elected to the officer position of marshal.

A man of deep faith, Syler devoted himself to supporting mission work in Haiti.

In lieu of flowers, a fundraiser has been set up in his honor to support the education of his children. The family said the contributions will play a crucial role in ensuring that Matthew's legacy of love and care for his family endures. 

Services will be held June 17, 2023, at Mayfair Church of Christ, 1095 Carl T Jones Dr SE, Huntsville, Alabama, with visitation 10:30 am – 1 pm. Funeral service will be held 1 – 2 pm Maple Hill Cemetery, 202 Maple Hill St SE, in Huntsville, Alabama. Gravesite Service at 3:30 pm.
